When planning our film we made sure that we had a good idea of where the locations were going to be for each shots, we took time to assess the practicality and accessibility of location as well as how it would look when on camera. When making final decisions we took location shots which I have listed below.
First location: Mrs Kelly's office
We decided to use this office as when the door is shut and the lights are off it has very little lighting and a slight blue tint which sets a chilling feel. We asked Mrs Kelly in person for permission to use her office to film, after explaining how we intended to film the scene in her office she was more than happy to let us use it during one of our free periods at school.
Second location: Wooded area
This area is located at the bottom of our school field and was the first location that we decided on instantly, it was secluded which made it the perfect setting and the bridge/metal walkway has been used by all of us previously on DofE, so we knew it was safe.
Third location: Bentley Woods
Bentley woods is located next to our school and the trees were perfect for how we intended to film the section with one of the 'victims'. We even had the ease of selecting a specific tree upon our first visit to the area.
Fourth location: Bathroom
Amy, who is in our Media class, gave us permission to use her bathroom and it was perfect because it was rather well lit and the light colouring within the room heavily contrasts the the dark mood of the scene.
Fifth location: Year Seven Gardens
We chose the year seven gardens within our school grounds to film because it is an open area which also had the potential to hide in/behind shrubbery if necessary.
